Iran and Pompeo’s 12-Point Ludicrous Wish List posted by Peter Koenig via dan, 2018-05-24 22:31:36
Trump’s reneging on the Nuclear Deal was the first step. It was, of course, pushed by Israel, but based on lie after lie and more lies, that Iran did not comply with the conditions and ‘spirit’ of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action). And this despite the fact that the Atomic Energy Commission in Vienna has already at least 8 times since the signing of the deal in July 2015 confirmed that Iran is in absolute compliance. Perpetual War State America Adheres to Violent Doctrine for World Hegemony posted by judy, 2018-05-24 21:51:30
A State that publishes its doctrine -- Pax Americana, perpetual war -- for the WORLD to see should not surprise anyone when it breaks and undermines peace deals and withdraws from summits designed to pursue reconciliation and constructive realistic negotiations to achieve peace. Clearly, the USA has no intention of brokering or negotiating for peace anywhere on the planet -- that simple -- simply because it believes it can bully and bribe the world into submission with WAR and paper money. Now consider the legality of that approach and the many ILLEGAL wars the US wages and supports via its paid proxy fighters. Syria is the current outrageous example, the US military occupation of Syria breaks numerous international laws and breaches many international conventions to which the US is a signatory. President Trump has cancelled the upcoming summit between the United States and the North Koreans in a new letter released on Thursday. Beyond Golden Shower Diplomacy posted by Prof. Alfred W. McCoy via billie, 2018-05-24 07:02:02
Month by month, tweet by tweet, the events of the past two years have made it clearer than ever that Washington’s once-formidable global might is indeed fading. As the American empire unravels with previously unimagined speed, there are many across this country’s political spectrum who will not mourn its passing. Both peace activists and military veterans have grown tired of the country’s endless wars. Trade unionists and business owners have come to rue the job losses that accompanied Washington’s free-trade policies. Anti-globalization protesters and pro-Trump populists alike cheered the president’s cancellation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The idea of focusing on America and rebuilding the country’s tattered infrastructure has a growing bipartisan appeal. (full story)

Graduation Message For The Current Dark Age posted by John W. Whitehead via joyce, 2018-05-23 06:29:03
Those coming of age today will face some of the greatest obstacles ever encountered by young people. In addition to being overtaxed and underemployed, they will also be forced to march in lockstep with a government that no longer exists to serve the people but which demands they be obedient slaves or suffer the consequences. In Our Age of State Crime posted by Lawrence Davidson via tam, 2018-05-23 06:14:51
There is a legal construct known as “state crime.” As the title implies, these are crimes that are committed in the name of, and/or by the forces of, the national state. Given that such crimes can have behind them the force of national bureaucracies, they are, historically, the worst sort of crimes on record: genocide, organized campaigns of torture, war crimes and the like. Also, as the International State Crime Initiative notes, while there is little doubt that such behavior violates both international law and the national criminal law of most states, “state crime is under-acknowledged by popular and academic authors.” (full story)

Lunatic Trump Overtly Threatens Kim Jong Un's Life posted by Finian Cunningham via jack, 2018-05-23 06:02:31
“End up like Gaddafi,” if you do not comply with US demands! Trump also threatened to "decimate" North Korea -- and to hell with innocent civilians. But it's all par for the course for the WORLD'S leading mass murdering, rogue CRIMINAL nation. The only thing that has changed recently, due solely to public complacence, is that America doesn't feel the need to hide behind pretexts any longer, it's now undisguised open criminality from the USA, notwithstanding that ALL such violent threats are grossly illegal under local and INTERNATIONAL LAW! Xi Jingping China May Teach Oz a Bitter Lesson -- You Can't Have Your Cake and Eat It posted by Paul Colgan via pax, 2018-05-23 01:02:10
Almost all Aussies are aware how slavishly governments kow-tow to Washington, the last disgusting arse-lick was voting with the USA against a UN investigation of the Gaza massacre. However, China seems fed up with Australia's crawling on its hands and knees to Washington no matter what, while Australia imagines it can continue to spout anti-Chinese propaganda at Washington's behest in all matters, local and international (without consequence) and go on provocative US errands to the South China Sea, which China secures to KEEP IT OPEN to trade.

Now do not imagine for a second I'm not a patriot but Oz clearly needs a painful kick up the arse to shock it into the REAL WORLD. There is more to the W-O-R-L-D than the belligerent, rustic USA.

Inverse Times posted by lux, 2018-05-23 00:09:57
Today the world is as George Orwell predicted, to a tee. Democracy -- majority rule -- has become a farce, minority elites that own banks, media and mega-corporations install governments at will, consequently they run all nations and the world. The masses are presented with a game of voting charades which reduces to which elite servant to choose from, it’s a one stable, two horse race. Representative government (of and by the people) is long DEAD. Today democracy means minority elite rule by plutocrats and oligarchs -- verify for yourselves -- private sector big banks and multinationals hold sway over all governments, plain to see.
