No more Room for Grey Areas – the Polarisation of the Planet

Have you noticed the reductionist world view of today into its basic TWO components, good-evil, black-white, left-right, us-them etc? This is what's known in literary and scholarly circles as BINARY OPPOSITIONS, which by nature exclude 'grey' areas, “you're either with us or with the terrorists,” blurted imbecile G W Bush, though clearly I/you were not with either, but it hasn't improved since then, in fact it's gotten worse, as the news cycle now perpetuates conflict using binary oppositions – particularly the many variations of the “us-them” binary.

So, in order to be free of this captive, one option only, mine, simplistic trick, we must analyse reductionist binary oppositions, as indeed if people of the world succumb to the many binary oppositions presented to us by the sinister mass media daily, while excluding the infinite variety of alternatives between binaries, the entire world's population, inclusive of you and your friends/family, would be beating each other over the head pushing a particular view, mine/yours, and not accepting the views of others, a supremely counter-productive and destructive pass-time, to say the least.

We should first understand that 'good-evil', for instance, a popular binary employed by theologians and politicians, are mutually, definitively dependent therefore perpetually bound in conflict as they are opposites, and as there are no third, fourth etc, resolving factors no resolution is available. So ask yourself what is good if it doesn't have its opposite to define it? It ceases to exist, as 'bad' ceases to exist without 'good', so binaries define each other by virtue of polarisation.

HOWEVER, and it's a biggy, definitions of one or the other polar (binary) are arbitrarily made, in other words, I define myself and what I like as good, and everything that opposes my view must be evil/bad, so I'm right and you're wrong, you see how easy it is (?) though few ever ask those disseminating these binaries to define one or the other, as then we would really know THEM and not fall into the pit of projecting our own views/values -- which projection is the engine that maintains the life of all binaries. Plus, by defining one or the other binary others learn more about us than we do about them, you see why no-one is brave enough to define a binary polar, as that exposes more about them than they would care to expose, as they would be revealing THEIR innermost selves.

Therefore unscrupulous media outlets and the people that own-run them, avoid definitions like the plague they hope instead that we fill in the blanks by superimposing our likes and dislikes instead – and it works, however, the media then targets, with our superimposed values what they consider to be 'bad' or the enemy, whose enemy (?) 'one man's food is another man's poison.' Are we sure the enemy the media presents is OUR enemy, not by a long shot!

So though I'm a mass murderer (America) I define my actions as good in order for people to subscribe to their own 'good' views by mistakenly superimposing on mine/the media; so peace becomes an unmentionable enemy today, all that issues from the clearly partial mass media is WAR and conflict – what is wrong with this destructive presentation, plenty!

A sage of Ancient China, Lao Tzu, attempted to free minds from these ENSLAVING binaries by stating, “if not for the notion of good, there would be no evil,” he got that absolutely correct among many other liberating examples he wrote in his world famous poem the, Tao Te King, I recommend it highly to everyone that wishes to be free from the binds of any/all cultures and the crap they disseminate to deceive and enslave.

Believe nothing, question everything, particularly that which is taken for granted, as indeed meaning is purposefully and arbitrarily contrived. And never allow anyone/body or person to lead you to war, as your brothers and sisters are not YOUR enemies regardless of the efforts of some to brand them as such.
