Assange, Mass Media and the Art of Distraction

A recent article on Assange, written by Jonathan Cook, essentially describes what media studies students and analysts know to be the tricks of the trade, the foremost being distraction or shifting focus from the questionable and compromising to other less pertinent 'salad dressing' issues. In this way the media-nose-ringed masses are LED as they do not discriminate, they CONSUME.

Of course the AWARE do not fall for these tricks, as the primary issue regarding Assange's arrest is its questionable legality. Assange's arrest for performing journalism, which occupation is NOT A CRIME, flies in the face of the American Constitution and the crude breaches of his asylum are against UN human rights conventions and the Hague court's sovereignty and asylum laws etc, in fact so many laws and conventions have been compromised by the US, UK and clearly corrupted Ecuadorian government, it's a tragic joke, as they seem to be getting away with it. However, some, the very few, are acutely aware of the game.

Cook refers to the manic desire of the US criminal hierarchy to apprehend Assange, who has already been demonised as a 'non-state terrorist' by Mike Pompeo, one of buffoon Trump's handlers. Readers would note how Trump praised Wikileaks for publishing facts about the DNC and Hillary Clinton, which material no doubt assisted in her downfall in the presidential election, she has never gotten over it, nor has the DNC.

However, Trump being the pliable stooge that he is, has backflipped on his praise and now seeks to destroy Assange, a gnat has more character and integrity than Trump will ever have. Now, it matters not whether Assange is executed, which plan is not viable if he is to be extradited, or sent to prison to rot for the rest of his contained life, as he would have been neutralised, BUT Wikileaks should continue its work, which would make Assange's symbolic assassination, pointless, so the most efficient support for Assange at this stage would be for Wikileaks to resume its work big time by compromising criminals in power, are you reading this John Pilger and other friendly journalists?

The easily emulated Wikileaks mechanism is already in place so USE it in order to prove that the person is not the issue for criminal States, the CONCEPT and APPARATUS of Wikileaks is, and no corrupt criminal State has ever been able to kill an IDEA or CONCEPT! Note that Wikileaks, which model and apparatus Assange created, has not to date been attacked, notwithstanding that model/apparatus would spring up again almost immediately if it were attacked, so simple is that apparatus to create, which mechanism remains the REAL threat to criminal States. In that sense the fate of Assange would be inconsequential, so why continue to fall for the media designed shift of focus to Assange the person, to the exclusion of a working, fully functional compromising apparatus? Publishing truth must continue regardless of every other consideration, especially while Assange is in custody, to prove a point, you see?

The only effective weapon the US criminal State has is its mass media and Jonathan Cook has done a superb job exposing how it is being utilised against Assange and the led public at large. Readers should also note that this method is not new, distraction is an old tired but effective trick. Some decades past when Oz PM John Howard, one of the 'coalition of willing criminals' with Blair and Bush, was about to introduce an unpopular policy, the Australian media would be saturated with wife and woman bashing adds, complete with help lines, which crude and transparent method did shift focus away from Howard's criminal activities and unpopular policies.

Human's are susceptible to this method/media trick, and we have all used it on troublesome children by offering them candy or psychologically shifting their focus onto a big red balloon or whatever. It remains a powerful weapon today for those reasons. But as explained above there are many measures and tactics that counter it, we should all shift focus from Assange to Wikileaks and ensure that it continues to publish evermore compromising material, especially now that it appears that the criminal powers are succeeding; it is also known that Wikileaks has kept devastating material for an occasion such as this, notwithstanding that the flow of compromising data and material to Wikileaks should be allowed resume and continue indefinitely.
