Today the world is as George Orwell predicted, to a tee. Democracy -- majority rule -- has become a farce, minority elites that own banks, media and mega-corporations install governments at will, consequently they run all nations and the world. The masses are presented with a game of voting charades which reduces to which elite servant to choose from, it’s a one stable, two horse race. Representative government (of and by the people) is long DEAD. Today democracy means minority elite rule by plutocrats and oligarchs -- verify for yourselves -- private sector big banks and multinationals hold sway over all governments, plain to see.

War and NO Peace

Consider the many wars the USA and its vassal states have waged, based on ‘humanitarian’ interventions, the most outrageous are the Iraq invasion based on LIES and the ‘right to protect,’ humanitarian intervention in Libya -- Syria is following suite, where the ‘saviours’ of the Libyan people flew 26,000 bombing sorties in a no-fly zone which they utilised to fly bombers and fighter jets to 'free' the people from ‘tyranny.’ The civilian death toll was in the tens of thousands -- millions in Iraq -- and the country has now been reduced to warring, tribal anarchy, so much for ‘humanitarian’ wars, which are simply a cover for assassinating Libya’s and other leaders, stealing their huge gold and cash wealth and their precious national oil reserves and other resources -- same objective in Iraq and all other nations which the US-led interventionists ‘liberated.’

Nevertheless, we the masses were told and convinced by a partial media that the allies were spreading freedom and democracy throughout the world -- don’t make me laugh!

Civil Liberties and ‘inalienable’ Human Rights

Freedom is slavery, said Orwell -- well, he sure didn’t get that wrong. Today, almost everyone’s movements are easily monitored via a number of digital technologies and devices particularly smart phones and the Internet. The result of course is exploitation, oppression and a shoot-first police state, as every analogue and digital communication is recorded -- NO PRIVACY, which means NO FREEDOM to think, speak and act within the law. Slavery is now instituted and accepted, notwithstanding DEBT SLAVERY whereby the highest percentage of available wealth is channelled into elite pockets while real wages stagnate and living costs skyrocket; and if you imagine this outcome was/is accidental or the result of economic forces you are dreaming as elite serving politicians ALWAYS favour the big end of town with tax cuts and monies drawn from taxpayer funds, meanwhile average people are deprived of fair wages and public services such as affordable health and education etc, FACT. So enjoy the new slavery.

Moreover, if anyone creates a big enough stir regarding inequality and inequity they are soon identified and hunted into oblivion if not shot, as we see on the Internet, which WAS the last bastion of free speech, but no longer, as ‘fake news,’ a mass media specialty, has been used as an excuse to background ‘troublesome’ sites that report the truth and expose the propaganda and overt LIES of the mass media.

Indeed, if anyone in recent history could be classed as a real prophet, Orwell stands alone, as his predictions were not couched in ambiguous language like so many fake/false biblical and other popular prophets.

Orwell's contribution is that he handed people, especially social analysts, a useful tool -- inversion of meaning -- so whatever governments say it’s a safe bet to interpret it inversely.

And never forget, BIG BROTHER is watching YOU, until of course we ALL decide to do something about restoring our lives and nations. The people remain the most powerful social force on the planet, but NOT as slaves.
