Assange Likely to be Handed over to UK Authorities for Breaching Bail
denice, Friday, Jul 20 2018, 11:25pm
It is clear that the new leader of Ecuador is a puppet of the US, and I'm not about to give him any latitude though he faces financial blackmail and other political pressures, as these US tactics are well known and routine. So the full responsibility rests on Lenin Moreno's shoulders for not respecting asylum conventions and human rights, what a dog! (story and 2 images)

The Sexual Passion of Winston Smith (1984)
Edward Curtin via janice, Friday, Jul 20 2018, 7:46am
There is a vast literature analyzing the political prophecy of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four. Big Brother, double-speak, telescreens, crimestop, etc. – all applied to our current political situation. The language has become part of our popular lexicon, and as such, has become clichéd through overuse. Blithe, habitual use of language robs it of its power to crack open the safe that hides the realities of life. (story and 2 attached files)

Trump's HUGE Backflip on Russia Stance
Finian Cunningham via steve, Thursday, Jul 19 2018, 10:55pm
It seems that Trump's political naivety has been cured; indeed, Trump has learned that the president of the USA is NOT the democratically elected boss; that US presidents lead nothing unless it conforms to the dictates and policies of the ruling, deep state elites. Nevertheless, and notwithstanding that he deplores the constraints imposed by the office he holds, I would imagine Trump cares less. He wants out but with some dignity, which currently seems an impossibility. And so, if Trump's unorthodox creativity is unable to remedy the situation, America would face a completely dog-whipped compliant puppet president -- which focus I would shift from the person to the OBVIOUS FAKE DEMOCRACY that America is forced to endure from unrepresentative and unelected oligarchs and plutocrats.
Whatever you may think, it is NOW abundantly CLEAR that powers other than democratic representation rule the USA. Good luck, dreamboats!

'Russia Did It': A HUGE CIA Concocted Media Hoax
Stephen Lendman via jason, Wednesday, Jul 18 2018, 8:32pm
If the CIA had its way Russia would be responsible for ingrown toenails. But to take a propaganda line from Hitler himself, 'if you're going to tell a lie tell the biggest lie you can think of and repeat it endlessly until it becomes the "truth".' Well, we needn't look too far to see who today's fascist BIG LIARS are.
Not at any time have the media, the CIA and other accusers produced any credible evidence of their claims and accusations -- that is cold hard FACT. The entire Russiagate hoax rides only on a raft of mass media LIES. Now ask yourselves, who owns the mass media and who does the CIA really work for? Answer: the DEEP STATE, otherwise known as the ruling elites. Nonetheless, if WE always INSIST on REAL incontrovertible EVIDENCE, the entire propaganda machine/exercise would FALL in a heap.

Yes, Junior, We Do Live in a Post-Modern World
nano, Tuesday, Jul 17 2018, 7:51am
For the uninitiated post-modernism is a no truth-reality world; truth/reality becomes what you make it. This approach of course empowers everyone though those that have access to media or prominence are most able to wield this chaotic, amorphous but ‘real’ disruptive power. And indeed, power it is, but not the formalised, hierarchical power structures that history has known prior to post-modernism. The reason being that post-modernism attacks and subverts the power dynamic between sign, symbol and meaning, for instance a picture, or any representation of a pipe (object) is clearly not a/the pipe/object! Why Evidence Will Probably Never Be Produced in the Indictments of ‘Russian Agents’
Joe Lauria via jane, Monday, Jul 16 2018, 8:41pm
The indictment of 12 Russian ‘agents,’ which included no collusion with Trump’s team, is essentially a political and not legal document because it is almost certain the U.S. government will never have to present any evidence in court. (story and 1 image)

Successive Oz Government Failures to Meet their Responsibility to Citizens in Trouble
darcy, Monday, Jul 16 2018, 12:00am
Sometimes I am ashamed to state I’m an Aussie as it usually results in all manner of criticisms regarding our obsequious governments that are supplied with knee-pads for all visits to Washington. ALL our foreign ministers, regardless of political stripe parrot American policies, disregarding international and local law while they do so, they are ALL slavish to the nauseating extreme to America -- a ‘fine’ state of affairs for a sovereign State -- absolutely DISGRACEFUL. Words fail to adequately describe the disgusting cowardice, servility, and at times, treasonous behaviour our politicians display openly. Well, like our American cousins, most Aussies are in denial when they witness these pathetic displays of servility and blind obedience to a criminal state that is responsible for more innocent civilian deaths, maiming, and massive social displacements since the turn of the century, than all other nations put together, FACT, verify for yourselves. Mueller Releases a Skripal Orchestrated Farce
gus, Sunday, Jul 15 2018, 12:40am
The latest ‘news’ -- lol -- on idiotic president Trump and his alleged relationship with Russians has been released by Mueller’s deputy AG, now note the presentation: “Crucial Details“, “Major Development”, “Unveiled” and the list goes on, and that from only one ‘news’ source. So why the big sell if it’s all true? Indeed, the only thing missing is a bottle of nerve agent that any high school chemistry student could make from formulas in a published book freely available in the public domain. The Lamentable Notion that Trump is Responsible
gary, Saturday, Jul 14 2018, 2:14am
Two days ago I browsed to Alternet.org, a once good alternative news source, but was shocked to see that over 95% of content was related directly and indirectly to buffoon Trump, an obviously captured, puppet president doing the bidding of the global elite, a milieu of bankers and mega-corporations that have total control of the USA and many other Western and Eastern nations.

For Theresa May The ‘Special Relationship’ Means Craven Compliance
Gary Younge via jon, Thursday, Jul 12 2018, 11:50pm
A US president with no moral authority flies in to meet a British prime minister with no authority whatsoever. Each seeking legitimacy in the presence of the other, they hail their 'special' relationship like two bald men might brandish a comb. Isolated in their trajectories, belligerent in their rhetoric, incoherent in their policies, they have alienated their allies in pursuit of a brazen nationalism that bodes ill for them and everybody else. "Shakedown" of NATO by America
Finian Cunningham via jenny, Thursday, Jul 12 2018, 10:33pm
The fact is that NATO is an extension of the US military as was evidenced by its criminal bombing of Libya, 26,000 bombing sorties were conducted, in a 'no-fly' zone, by NATO to comply with Washington's interests and pursuits, which effort eventually led to the horrific murder of Gaddafi, and that AFTER he surrendered his WMD under NATO supervision. So there it is, once a nation is rendered defenceless the US/NATO strikes and murders its leader to then thieve its precious resources. (story and 1 image)

The Serene Gaze of the Enlightened
cas, Thursday, Jul 12 2018, 3:30am
Have you ever wondered why the Buddha and other enlightened beings are depicted with a serene facial expression and a faint blissful smile that shames the Mona Lisa? In some Tibetan tankas (religious paintings) Gods and beings are locked in sexual embrace yet the facial expression depicts other-worldliness and detached bliss with slightly upturned eyes (inward looking), and again that tell-tale faint smile, and this while locked in what would otherwise be sensual embrace.

Non-Stop Propaganda is Real Fake News
shane, Monday, Jul 9 2018, 11:44pm
Indeed, and who or what disseminates non-stop propaganda? Yes, the elite owned mass media by a country mile; remember the blatant LIES of the Iraq war? Non-existent WMD, fake connection to 9/11 and Iraqis welcoming invading Americans with "bouquets of flowers," etc. In fact the lies, distortions, misinformation that spews daily from the mass media dwarfs all other sources put together. However, what do we witness today? Big IT, Twitter in this instance, suspending over 70 million accounts in 2 months. Now that figure is staggering for a number of reasons, first the labour involved in the cancellation process itself, if it is done diligently, and second, the process itself; if the task has been performed by algorithms, then it’s a fraud as clearly a thinking sentient being is required to judge whether content is fake or not, mathematics cannot and does not think nor is it able to JUDGE!
