Successive Oz Government Failures to Meet their Responsibility to Citizens in Trouble

Sometimes I am ashamed to state I’m an Aussie as it usually results in all manner of criticisms regarding our obsequious governments that are supplied with knee-pads for all visits to Washington. ALL our foreign ministers, regardless of political stripe parrot American policies, disregarding international and local law while they do so, they are ALL slavish to the nauseating extreme to America -- a ‘fine’ state of affairs for a sovereign State -- absolutely DISGRACEFUL. Words fail to adequately describe the disgusting cowardice, servility, and at times, treasonous behaviour our politicians display openly. Well, like our American cousins, most Aussies are in denial when they witness these pathetic displays of servility and blind obedience to a criminal state that is responsible for more innocent civilian deaths, maiming, and massive social displacements since the turn of the century, than all other nations put together, FACT, verify for yourselves.

To demonstrate continuing Oz government obsequiousness to the USA one merely needs to address the Assange issue; under instruction from Washington all successive Oz governments have refused to support Assange in a meaningful responsible way, the same occurred with David Hicks, which behaviour is clearly anti-Australian values and perhaps illegal in the sense that our governments have a responsibility to protect all citizens in trouble regardless of the charges they face.

Now remember that Hicks, a deluded simple fool more than a criminal, was finally released from horrendous US confinement after constant pressure from independent politicians, most notably Senator Stott Despoja, and public pressure, and guess which PM negotiated Hicks’ release, for political reasons primarily, the ultimate sell-out coward and war criminal, JOHN HOWARD of the notorious ‘coalition of the willing’, surprise, surprise for younger Aussies.

Indeed, if war criminal Howard felt compelled to negotiate privately with Dick Cheney the return to Australia of David Hicks then Assange, who has not been convicted of any serious crime deserves NO LESS; perhaps Howard may wish to comment on the matter.

Nevertheless, Hicks, a convert to fundamentalist Islam who fought in Bosnia against the legitimate Yugoslav government and was later arrested in Afghanistan to be turned over to the Americans, was returned to Australia and released from jail shortly thereafter. So how much more is that responsibility due ASSANGE, who makes no apology for exposing the sordid dealings of American politicians and American war crimes; Assange in fact has done more to expose the USA as a criminally run State than any other journalist in history and for this service to the moral GLOBAL majority he is abandoned by Australian governments AND the PEOPLE, a very poor show indeed, especially if we consider Australian traditional vales, of the 'fair go, mateship and mutual aid.'

What a thorough disgrace Oz has become due to our thoroughly corrupted governments, hang your heads in absolute shame, Rudd, Gillard and Turnbull for abandoning under pressure from a FOREIGN power, Julian Assange. I would remind you all that History is not forgiving, so stand indicted and shamed by your pathetic incompetence, treasonous servility to a foreign criminal state, and above all, your open treachery against Aussie citizens.

Now, independent nations do NOT cower or grovel to proven criminal states; WWII is a history of RESISTANCE against overwhelming, at the time, criminal forces, yet the bravery of attacked populations and their respective governments was exemplary, as WAS Australia’s effort at the time -- so we know that Aussies have the spirit, commitment and the ability to fight criminal forces, so much for Rudd, Gillard and Turnbull today.

Now, it is not that Australia doesn’t have HUGE leverage over the USA, Australia is VITAL to U.S. interests, Pine Gap and the NW Shelf, spying bases for instance, notwithstanding that Gillard signed over Oz sovereignty by allowing the US military to utilise ALL our sea ports and airfields for its so-called ‘pivot to Asia,’ which endeavour made Oz a primary nuclear target in the event of a US provoked war with China. Clearly, Australia must NEVER allow the USA to take us for granted though our knee-walking politicians do their best to form that FALSE impression in Washington. However, we the Oz public, are not our disgusting, servile governments, if we must set an example we WILL. This nation was built on camaraderie and mateship, which means SUPPORT, never forget it.

All Aussies would remind our politicians that ‘we catch and kill our OWN’, we DO NOT abandon our own to anyone, we learned that after the tragic ‘breaker’ Morant experience.

On the above outlined very CLEAR basis Assange MUST be safely returned to Australia to face the many fabricated charges against him, and I write all this as no personal fan of Assange (he knows it) but I am an AUSTRALIAN and as such support my fellow citizens in times of crisis and need, it’s the Australian WAY.

Shame on our SPINELESS, integrity-devoid politicians, are you reading this, useless Malcolm Turnbull and Julie Bishop?
