Why Bother? posted by aaron, 2019-05-29 22:37:05 Indeed, what is new about the NEWs, nothing! It's the same old lies and propaganda and the same old elites tailoring and managing the script/herd to serve THEIR agendas, not our hopes and aspirations. In fact voting is a waste of time, Australia's recent federal election was noted for the huge amount of informal votes, as voting is compulsory, but that alone doesn't force people to choose between a vomit or a turd, hence meaningless votes – is that real freedom/democracy, do YOU really count? If you imagine you have any say in the direction your nation takes you are dreaming. Minority elite RULING interests ensure they maintain power by forcing populations to elect one or the other bought and owned, politicians who wouldn't even be able to stand for election without elite support. Don't kid yourselves. (full story) prose / international
Idiocracy posted by Paul Edwards via james, 2019-05-28 20:09:49 Science strives for predictability, questing for certainty it doubts exists. The frontiers of physical research probe realms of paradox currently far beyond human reason. Seismologists and volcanologists study temblors and eruptions avidly but can’t forecast events in real time. There is no science to predict devastating earthquakes in societies, though the symptoms that produce them are established and, in America, beyond dispute. (full story) prose / international
The Evidence We Were Never Meant to See posted by Robert Fisk via darcy, 2019-05-28 19:48:29 We like to take the Big Boys on trust. No longer do we believe in our meretricious little leaders with their easy lies and twitters: the Trumps and Mays and now all the nationalists of Europe. We certainly don’t put any credit in Arab dictators. (full story) prose / international
John Bolton and The Overcompensating Short Man Syndrome posted by jean, 2019-05-28 00:30:59 It is well known anecdotally that small men attempt to compensate for their diminutive statures with some form of 'bigness,' like a loud deep voice or verbally aggressive behaviour, however, few take this compensation to pathological lengths, but some do, as is obvious with diminutive John Bolton. Fear Rules Ruling Elites posted by jane, 2019-05-26 23:47:26 Today surveillance is ubiquitous for average people, everyone with an internet connection or digital communication device, smartphone etc, is spied on, HOWEVER, that spying does not include those that are doing the spying/surveillance and that is no accident as rule today is from the top not bottom as democracy DEMANDS. The Enemies of Peace – and the Anatomy of War posted by reg, 2019-05-25 22:16:00 War essentially has two prime drivers, ideology and mercantilism. The 30 year war which engulfed Europe was an ideological war [as was the Russian and Chinese revolutions, for other examples] precipitated by the protestant reformation against a thoroughly corrupt ruling Catholic church. It was ruinous as history records. However, it did benefit war merchants, weapons manufacturers, bankers and expose the rottenness of iron-fist theological/ideological rule. Nevertheless, compliant established leaders (monarchs) of these wars, backed by huge mercantile/banker interests, which always win, failed to see they were increasing the power of the business/mercantile sector to such a degree that this group soon overwhelmed European monarchies and remains in power globally to this day – wars cannot be fought without weapons and finance, that simple. The Appalling Social Consistencies that Never Change posted by lex, 2019-05-25 02:17:02 It is true regarding human nature that “nothing is new under the sun.” We are divided and in conflict externally and INTERNALLY, as the former condition cannot occur without the latter, in fact, internal conflict must precede external conflict. Consequently it is little surprise that we find this issue addressed throughout recorded history; for example, the consistent teaching of the major world religions, which they all got right: Love your neighbour as yourself, Islam is a brother/sisterhood, the essence of Buddhism is, “good fellowship.” (full story) prose / international
Forget the Man focus on the PLAN posted by Jessica Corbett via jess, 2019-05-23 22:24:19 Do you imagine that your inalienable rights, liberties and freedoms have been lost by accident? If so, please return to your television sets and social media accounts, as this piece is for thinking people. There is purpose behind a planned and pursued strategy by criminal, elite rulers to COMPLETELY enslave/capture the masses and society. The Assange case exemplifies this nefarious plan in all its sordid detail if we focus on it rather than the person. Do not be DISTRACTED by the person upon which the privately owned mass media is at pains to shift focus.
